- This MGB GT was built in November 1966 in GB & dispatched to CAFFYNS of Eastbourne in Sussex. The car comes with a certified copy of the factory records from the BMI Heritage Trust. The car had undergone an extensive rebuild from 1985 until Sep 2012 when I purchased it.The car was originally BRG and was repainted in Tartan Red as part of the rebuild. The previous owner kept meticulous paper records including full photos of the entire rebuild. These will be passed on.
It is a beautiful road car especially after the overdrive function was fitted to the car in early 2013.
The car has been meticulously maintained to keep the car in its original condition.
It is fitted with an original DIAMOND DOT (AM) Radio that needs to be fine-tuned.
I have completed other refits to the car with the guidance & involvement of a retired BMC Mechanic including:
A centre console in Mar 2013
Overdrive function Mar 2013
Fuel Filters Mar 2013
New fuel tank May 2013
4 x Wheel Bearings Jul 2013
New roof lining fitted in Feb 2022The car has been regularly tuned by the Mechanic and has had regular grease & oil changes.
We have also changed the 2 X 6V conjoint batteries into a single 12v Unit and is currently “trickle charged” for maintenance.
I am currently a Member of a Registered Car Club and the car is registered until Sep 2024 in the Conditional Registration Category and is non-transferable.
