Team Hunter

Team Hunter is the sporting arm of the MG Car Club Hunter Region Inc.

The team was formed back in November 1994 when word filtered to the MG Car Club Hunter Region that there was a new race track opening and they had this event called 'Regularity'. Austin Blanch (MGA)/ Steve Jones (MGB), Richard Merrick (MGB), Tony Merrick (MG Magnette) and Jeff Redman (s/c MGTC) headed south to Goulburn for the inaugural HSRCA Historic Race meeting at new Wakefield Park circuit.  The 'Team Hunter' pit crew for that event was Sue Blanch, Matt Blanch, Bev Jones, Luke Kirkgaurd and Merryl Redman.

After a great weekend playing in our MG's the 'Team' was formed and plans were made to do this again... regularly.

This was the start of an era. Since then the Team has grown in numbers to have 25 drivers and many dozen pit crew members.

Many more are available for you to view on YouTube at; http://www.youtube.com/user/GriffinRacingMG?feature=mhum#p/u.
Although the majority of members compete in Regularity, team members Alan Brown, Mike Walsh, Matt Blanch and Steve Jones have taken the step into racing. Alan, Mike and Matt compete in MGB's in Historic Group S and Steve in his MG Midget in Marque Sports.
If you are interested in having a go at Regularity, you will need a CAMS L2S licence and a Regularity licence (free... but you need to do a driving course). There are several events during the year run by FoSC and HSRCA. It's a great way to learn yours and your car abilities.
If you would like to become a member of 'Team Hunter' as a driver or pit crew, all you have to do is come along and have a good time. Getting to serious will be frowned upon and the offending person will be severely ribbed.
We're all about enjoying our MG's with mates.
