Election of 2025/26 Club Committee

Dear Members of the MG Car Club Hunter Region,

In accordance with the Club’s Constitution, at the start of each membership year all Committee positions are declared vacant and the Club membership elects a new Committee. This occurs at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) conducted on the second Tuesday of August and attended by the Club membership. At that AGM nominations and seconding of candidates for the Committee positions are confirmed, and votes are cast for contested positions.

The AGM for election of our 2025/2026 Committee will take place in the Club rooms on Tuesday 12 August at 7:30 p.m. At that meeting our outgoing Club Secretary will act as Returning Officer and will conduct the election of the new Committee.

To facilitate smooth running of the AGM:
  • Members of the MG Car Club Hunter Region are requested to lodge with the Returning Officer their nominations for 2025/26 Committee positions prior to the meeting. Each nomination must include the name of a seconder for the nomination, and advice that the nominee accepts the nomination.
  • Members are asked to ensure their nomination(s) are received by the Returning Officer by 5 p.m. on Friday 8 August 2025. In accordance with the Constitution, all financial full members (and not associate members) are permitted to nominate, or be nominated for the Committee. Eligible members can self nominate, as long as that nomination is seconded.
  • Those positions for which there is a single nomination will be declared at the AGM. The Returning Officer will conduct an election for any contested positions.

The elected Committee positions are:

Executive

  • President (incumbent Denny Bowden)
  • Vice President (incumbent Steve Jones)
  • Honorary Secretary (incumbent Frans Henskens)
  • Honorary Treasurer (incumbent (Greg Jenkins)
Remaining Committee

  • Regalia Officer (incumbent John Longrigg)

Please provide your nominations to the Returning Officer (Frans Henskens) preferably by email (henskens@henskens.com.au), in person, or by phone (0419561448 - at reasonable time of day) by 5 p.m. on Friday 9 August 2024. Make sure you state the position for which each nominee is being nominated, the name of a seconder for each nomination, and confirm that the nominee has agreed to the nomination.

For those who prefer to do things on paper, a form for printing and return is attached.

Regards,
